The inaguration of the fair in Phuong Duc Commune.
On February 4, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Phuong Duc Commune People's Committee to open an exhibition showcasing new and creative handicraft products and designs linked to activities serving the Binh Ngo Spring of 2026.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Phuong Duc Commune People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Trong Vinh said the exhibition holds practical significance, helping promote traditional products, advance trade promotion and support the development of local craft village economies.
The exhibition features 100 booths, creating a festive atmosphere ahead of the Lunar New Year while strengthening connections and supporting production and consumption. Vinh noted that 18 of the commune's 42 hamlets have gained recognition as craft villages, accounting for 48.2%.
These craft villages have developed in diverse ways, producing culturally distinctive products with broad domestic and export markets. They provide jobs for more than 80% of local and nearby workers, raise living standards and help transform rural areas toward a civilized, modern and sustainable direction.

According to Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Dinh Thang, the exhibition represents a practical activity to implement major central policies on private sector development, innovation, trade promotion and support for craft villages.
Through the event, the department aims to connect supply and demand, help handicraft producers access markets, especially Tet consumer markets and gradually integrate Hanoi craft village products more deeply into value chains and e-commerce.
A highlight of the program included cooperation signing ceremonies between the Phuong Duc Commune People's Committee and reputable organizations to support craft village development.

These included agreements with the Hanoi Handicrafts and Craft Villages Association on design innovation, market development, product consumption and craft village tourism, with TikTok Vietnam to promote and sell craft village products on digital platforms and with Viettel Post Hanoi Branch to support logistics and transportation.
After the opening ceremony, delegates and residents toured the booths and experienced a vibrant shopping space rich in cultural identity. Many handicraft products earned praise for creativity, quality and suitability as Tet gifts.
