On January 29, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Do Ward held an inauguration ceremony and unveiled a city-level project plaque celebrating the success of the 14th National Party Congress at the Nghia Do Park renovation project.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, member of the Hanoi Party Standing Committee and Director of the Hanoi Department of Public Security, attended the event.

After the implementation of the two-tier local government model, the Nghia Do Ward People's Committee took over and continued the renovation and upgrading of Nghia Do Park with a total investment of nearly VND61 billion (US$2.3 million).

Now completed, the park will provide residents and people in neighboring areas with additional safe spaces for recreation, exercise and daily activities. It will also contribute to improving physical and mental health, especially for the elderly, children and regular exercisers.

During implementation, the ward's project management unit ensured compliance with regulations on quality management, construction progress, environmental sanitation, occupational safety and fire prevention. The project met approved design standards in quality, technical specifications and aesthetics.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, member of the Hanoi Party Standing Committee and Director of the Hanoi Department of Public Security, delivers his remarks.

The management unit promptly addressed arising issues to accelerate progress and ensure timely handover and use in line with investment objectives.

All project components were completed on schedule, meeting requirements for quality, safety, aesthetics, environmental protection and security, with no occupational accidents.

The completed project enhances urban appearance, provides recreational and sports spaces, improves service quality, meets growing local and visitor demand and contributes to urban beautification and renewal.

The project also preserves landscape architecture, creates daily exercise and relaxation space, offers modern facilities for children's activities, aligns with Hanoi's development trends and increases green space density. Its completion coincided with celebrations of the successful 14th National Party Congress.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung stressed that completing procedures and unveiling the project plaque in time for the congress, while ensuring construction progress and early operation, was an important political task closely directed by city and ward leaders.

On behalf of the Hanoi Party Standing Committee, he praised the efforts of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghia Do Ward, acknowledged the responsibility of involved units and thanked residents for their support, a decisive factor for grassroots success.

To ensure long-term effectiveness, he urged ward authorities to coordinate proactively with relevant agencies to manage, operate and develop the park scientifically and in line with planning and public needs.

He also called for protecting landscapes, greenery and infrastructure, strengthening security and sanitation and promoting public awareness to use and protect the park responsibly.
