Authorities of Yen Hoa Ward contribute $76,000 to assist people affected by floods and storms.
On November 25, many organizations continued to deliver donations to the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee to help people in the central and Central Highlands provinces recover from severe floods.
Bui Huyen Mai, Standing Member of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee, received contributions including VND2 billion (US$76,000) from the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and residents of Yen Hoa Ward; and VND887.8 million ($33,660) from the Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Thuong Ward.
Later the same afternoon, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee Pham Anh Tuan received VND1.2 billion ($45,500) from the Party Committee, authorities and residents of Tay Ho Ward.
Trinh Thi Dung, Deputy Party Secretary and Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Yen Hoa Ward, said the ward responded to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the Hanoi Fatherland Front Standing Committee to support communities affected by storms and floods.
The Yen Hoa Fatherland Front Committee issued notices to member organizations, agencies, enterprises, schools, Party cells, residential groups and local residents to mobilize contributions.
Yen Hoa authorities raised awareness about the serious damage in the central and Central Highlands regions and called for quick, coordinated relief efforts.
The ward also encouraged solidarity and compassion, reminding residents of the spirit of mutual support and the motto "Hanoi for the whole country, Hanoi with the whole country."
Tay Ho Ward provies an aid worth $45,500.
Residents actively contributed to help affected communities recover from natural disasters and stabilize their lives.
Chairwoman Bui Huyen Mai expressed gratitude for the support and affirmed that all contributions would be delivered quickly to affected provinces.
She said Hanoi, following a directive from the Politburo and Secretariat, would directly support Gia Lai Province in recovering from historic flooding.
Right after receiving the assignment, Hanoi's Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee coordinated swiftly and responsibly under the spirit of "Hanoi with compassion" and "Hanoi for the whole country."
On November 25, the city approved an additional VND200 billion ($7.6 million) to help residents of Gia Lai stabilize their lives.
On November 26, a delegation led by Vice Chairman Pham Anh Tuan traveled to Gia Lai to deliver 50 tons of rice and four charity homes for disadvantaged women.
Earlier, the Hanoi Party Committee had provided VND50 billion ($1.9 million) in emergency support to Gia Lai for immediate flood relief.
Hanoi also allocated VND10 billion ($380,000) from the city's Relief Fund to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to support flood-hit communities nationwide.
On November 24, Standing Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong delivered VND30 billion ($1.1 million) to Dak Lak, Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa to support recovery efforts.
According to the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee, as of the afternoon of November 25, the committee had received more than VND22 billion ($834,180) from organizations and individuals to help people in the central and Central Highlands regions recover from the floods.
Phu Thuong Ward officials present a donation of $33,660 to the city.
