She emphasized deepening the friendship between the peoples of Brazil and Vietnam and supporting the protection of Vietnamese citizens in Brazil, fostering ties between the Vietnamese community and local authorities.
Marcelle Torres Alves Okuno expressed her honor at being recommended as Vietnam's Honorary Consul in Brazil and discussed with the delegation her recent efforts, especially post-COVID, to advance Vietnam-Brazil relations.
Residing and working in Rio de Janeiro, Okuno is an admirer of Vietnam with extensive connections among politicians, diplomats, and business leaders. She currently works for AsiaColors, a private company promoting public diplomacy for Asian countries in Brazil to strengthen cultural ties. Additionally, she is a member of a research group with the US-based Public Diplomacy Council.
