Hanoi fire and rescue police officers help people of Trung Gia Commune clean the roads.
After Typhoon Matmo caused heavy losses in Trung Gia Commune, the Fire and Rescue Police Department under the Hanoi Department of Public Security immediately have sent officers and vehicles to help residents recover and stabilize their lives.
Following the directive of the Director of the Hanoi Department of Public Security on post-flood recovery, on October 12, the Fire and Rescue Police officers coordinated with local authorities to clean up the environment and assist affected households.
Early that morning, a working delegation led by Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Duong, Deputy Head of the Department, arrived in Trung Gia Commune. He divided officers into 10 teams to help clean mud, collect waste and move furniture for local schools and households.
Alongside their relief work, the Fire and Rescue Police continued coordinating with local police and authorities to ensure public security, prevent landslides and protect lives and property in flooded areas.
Throughout the peak of the flooding, dozens of officers remained on duty, evacuating hundreds of households from danger and supplying food and necessities to those temporarily isolated by floodwaters.
With the spirit of "serving the people," the officers worked tirelessly, wading through floodwaters to move residents to safety and deliver essential goods. Their efforts reflected the proactive and core role of the Fire and Rescue Police in disaster response, ensuring security and helping communities recover.
Their timely and dedicated actions highlighted the image of Hanoi's firefighters: compassionate, selfless and always standing by the people. These deeds reaffirm the humanity, dedication and sense of duty of the People's Police Force.
