Overview of the meeting.
On March 17, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of the Hanoi Department of Public Security, held a working session with Rajpal Singh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore to Vietnam, to further discuss cooperation in building and developing a smart Hanoi.
Also attending were Major General Duong Duc Hai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Public Security; Donald Tsang, Deputy Ambassador; representatives of relevant police units; and staff from the Singaporean Embassy.
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung expressed sincere thanks to the Singapore Embassy and its leaders for their prompt support following the February 10, 2026, meeting on smart city development.
The embassy introduced capable Singaporean experts to Hanoi to engage and arrange further discussions.
Building on these results, both sides held this session to advance cooperation in the coming period.

In a constructive and open atmosphere, Ambassador Rajpal Singh affirmed that the Singapore Embassy is ready to support and cooperate with Hanoi Police and highly appreciated the progress achieved so far.
Both sides agreed to continue strengthening cooperation, focusing on connecting Hanoi with expert consultants and reputable technology corporations, training human resources and transferring technological solutions tailored to Hanoi's needs.
The meeting contributed to advancing cooperation in a substantive manner, meeting requirements for building a modern, safe, sustainable and civilized capital.
