The opening of the goods fair in Ba Vi Commune.
On March 1, at the Ha Temple area in Ba Vi Commune, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the Hanoi Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion and the Ba Vi Commune People's Committee opened the 2026 Spring Rural Industrial Products Fair.
This year's fair features more than 60 standard booths displaying handicrafts, traditional craft village products, OCOP items, agricultural produce, safe food and other outstanding rural industrial goods from Hanoi and provinces nationwide.
The fairgrounds are arranged in a diverse and accessible layout, enabling businesses to promote brands, introduce products and connect with partners and customers. Expectating to attract thousands of residents and visitors for shopping and direct transactions, the fair is not only a major trade promotion activity, but also an opportunity for rural production facilities to expand markets and strengthen cooperation across production and distribution chains.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Giap Dong, Chairman of the Ba Vi Commune People's Committee, said the fair provides practical support for enterprises and production facilities to promote their goods while boosting local industrial and handicraft development.
"The program brings quality products at reasonable prices to consumers, while promoting the locality's image and advancing economic growth linked to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values," Dong said.
Beyond trade promotion, the fair contributes to job creation and income growth, especially in rural areas where craft village industries and small-scale manufacturing play a key role in the local economy.

A special highlight this year is its connection with the Tan Vien Son Thanh Festival, one of the most representative traditional festivals of the Doai region, held at the Ha, Trung and Thuong temples on the Ba Vi mountain range.
The combination of commercial activities and cultural festivities creates a vibrant space blending shopping, tourism and spiritual life.
In his opening remarks, Nguyen Dinh Thang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized that the fair meets residents' and tourists' shopping needs at the start of spring while supporting rural producers in promoting goods, expanding markets and encouraging technological innovation.
"The fair helps form high-quality production-consumption chains, preserve craft village heritage and encourage producers to upgrade technology, enhance quality and strengthen competitiveness," Thang said.
For years, Hanoi has given special attention to rural industrial development, which preserves traditional values while playing a vital role in economic restructuring, job creation and improving rural livelihoods.
The city has implemented coordinated support programs, including industrial promotion, machinery upgrades, workforce training, design assistance, brand building, trade promotion and market expansion for craft village, OCOP and other rural industrial products.
As a result, many Hanoi products have gradually improved quality, reinforced cultural value and branding and gained access to international markets.
Organizing the fair alongside a cultural festival not only promotes products but also stimulates local tourism, generating additional income for residents and businesses.
This integrated model effectively combines trade promotion and tourism development, leveraging local cultural and historical potential for economic growth.
This year's fair continues to serve as a key bridge connecting rural producers, cooperatives and enterprises with markets, expanding trade ties and fostering production and consumption linkages.

The event also encourages producers to adopt new technologies, improve quality, refine designs and meet rising consumer demand.
As a practical trade promotion activity, the fair enhances the competitiveness of rural industrial products and provides effective exposure for capital-based enterprises and craft villages.
The event contributes to sustainable rural industry, trade and local economic development.
The 2026 Spring Rural Industrial Products Fair in Ba Vi Commune is expected to become an effective bridge between businesses and markets, boosting production, elevating craft village value and driving rural economic growth in Hanoi's new development phase.
The fair runs from February 28 to March 4, 2026 and is a key activity under Hanoi's 2026 Industrial Promotion Program.
