Ba Dinh Ward Police staff instruct local authorities through fire safety measures for the national election.
The Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue Police Division of the Hanoi Department of Public Security has issued several recommendations to ensure absolute fire safety and rescue readiness at polling stations.
The election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term is a major political event of the country with special significance for national and local development.
It represents a broad democratic activity across society, reflecting the rights, responsibilities and sacred civic duty of every citizen toward the future of the nation.
Fire prevention and firefighting work at polling stations across Hanoi is therefore particularly important in ensuring the absolute safety of this nationwide civic event.
Even the smallest risk of fire or explosion must be proactively prevented and strictly controlled.
To ensure complete safety in fire prevention, firefighting and rescue operations, the Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue Police Division of the Hanoi Department of Public Security recommends the following measures:
Election materials, ballot boxes, tables and chairs must be arranged neatly and must not block corridors or emergency exits.
Flammable or explosive items must not be brought into polling stations.
Flammable materials must not be placed near heat sources or electrical equipment.
Parking areas should be arranged separately.
Smoking, burning votive papers, or cooking inside polling areas is strictly prohibited.
Fire prevention systems and equipment installed at polling stations must be inspected and maintained.
Fire extinguishers, emergency lighting and evacuation signs must be fully installed and placed in visible and accessible locations.
Throughout the election period, fire safety operations must follow the "four on-the-spot" principle.
Potential fire or explosion incidents must be detected early and handled promptly at polling stations.
