The event, organized by the Hanoi Department of Tourism in coordination with the Thang Long–Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, and relevant departments and agencies, took place from February 6 to 10. Featuring a diverse series of cultural and tourism activities, the program left a strong impression on both domestic and international visitors.

Overview of the event.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Nguyen Tran Quang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said that nearly 30 experiential activities attracted more than 30,000 visitors, along with tens of thousands of online check-ins across social media platforms. The event helped promote Hanoi as a distinctive, safe and friendly cultural destination at the beginning of the Lunar New Year.
"Happy Tet 2026" was a meaningful cultural and tourism event welcoming the Lunar New Year of the Horse, while honoring and spreading the nation's cherished traditional values.
After several vibrant days, the program created a unique Tet experience space, enriching the cultural and spiritual life of the Capital's residents and providing a tourism highlight in early spring.
Throughout the event, the "Happy Tet 2026" space became an attractive destination where visitors immersed themselves in traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year customs and practices. Folk cultural activities such as making banh chung (square sticky rice cakes), calligraphy writing for good luck, traditional music and art performances, folk games, craft village experiences, and culinary spaces representing the three regions of Vietnam drew large public participation.
These activities vividly recreated Tet-related cultural values in a way that was accessible and engaging for all generations, especially young people and international visitors.
Beyond showcasing traditional Tet customs, "Happy Tet 2026" also reflected the Capital's tourism sector's efforts to innovate in event organization, harmoniously combining tradition with modern elements.
