Speaking on behalf of the four nominees, Le Kim Anh expressed sincere thanks to the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Women's Union and to officials and staff of the agency, especially members of the expanded leadership collective attending the meeting, for their responsible and dedicated contributions as well as their strong support and confidence in the nominees.
Anh said she hoped the nominated candidates would continue to receive attention and support in the time ahead and affirmed their commitment to upholding the highest sense of responsibility and exemplary conduct to fulfill assigned duties.
She emphasized the role of elected representatives in listening to opinions, aspirations and concerns of women members and voters and conveying these expectations to competent authorities.
Following this, Nguyen Kim Quy, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women's Union and Head of the City Women's Affairs Department, reported on key activities carried out in January 2026.
During the month, the Hanoi Women's Union organized a conference to disseminate the Resolution of the 17th Hanoi Women's Congress, deploy key tasks and launch the 2026 emulation movement. The event combined in-person and online formats, connecting 130 sites and attracting nearly 4,000 Women's Union officials.
The City Women's Union issued its full-term work program, along with inspection and supervision plans for the Executive Committee and the Inspection Committee for the 2025–2030 term. It also unveiled an action program to implement the Resolution of the 17th Hanoi Women's Congress and the Resolution of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress.
In addition, the Union promulgated working regulations for the 17th Executive Committee, rules on the management and use of the Union fund, regulations on emulation and commendation, and guidelines on managing and using entrusted fees and bank commissions.
Guidance documents were also issued to encourage members and women to help address five major bottlenecks facing the city: traffic congestion, urban order, environmental pollution, flooding, and food safety. The Union further rolled out thematic programs for Women's Union work in 2026.

Delegates at the meeting.
Grassroots Women's Union chapters actively promoted communications in celebration of the elections of National Assembly and People's Council deputies for the 2026–2031 term. They organized meetings to introduce candidates for commune-level People's Councils and conducted training on skills related to personnel nomination for these elections.
Women's Union chapters also actively encouraged officials, members and families to fly the national flag and take part in environmental clean-up activities, contributing to the city's "Bright, Green, Clean and Beautiful" emulation movement.
In addition, Women's Union chapters at all levels organized visits, gift-giving and support activities for poor women, children and Agent Orange victims facing hardship during the Lunar New Year. These activities were carried out in a timely and targeted manner to ensure that every household could celebrate Tet, with total funding of VND808.8 million (US$33,000).
The Union continued to effectively implement the "Accompanying Children" and "Godmother" programs, providing sponsorship support for 26 children worth VND38.6 million (US$1,600) and handing over three charity homes to disadvantaged women members with a total value of VND130 million (US$5,300).
The Hanoi Women's Union also organized the "Hanoi Connects and Reaches Further" program in 2025, with the participation of more than 80 enterprises, cooperatives and women-led production and business establishments.
More than 800 products were displayed and introduced to consumers, including safe agricultural products, OCOP items, traditional craft village products, handicrafts, fashion, health care products and creative goods.
At the city level, the Union launched the 2026 competition for "Model Mural and Flower Streets and Routes." In coordination with the Hanoi Green Cooperative, it also initiated the "Clean Homes, Spreading Love" program for the 2026–2030 period, committing to support 20,000 women in cleaning their homes with a total value of more than VND6.1 billion (US$249,000).
The program contributes to implementing the Resolution of the 17th Hanoi Women's Congress and the campaign to build families that meet the "5 No, 3 Clean and 3 Safe" criteria.
Grassroots Women's Union chapters also actively responded to the "Green Weekend" campaign by organizing weekly clean-up activities on Saturdays and Sundays.
At the conference, chairpersons of Women's Union chapters from communes and wards shared practical experience in Women's Union work and highlighted challenges at the grassroots level.
These included the high age and limited health of some members, which affects participation in activities, uneven access to information technology and digital applications among members and limited funding that constrains the organization of large programs and events.
In her remarks, Le Kim Anh, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women's Union, stressed the need for the Union's staff to overcome shortcomings and difficulties while continuing to strengthen solidarity and promote innovation and creativity in effectively carrying out key tasks of the city and the Union in the new context.
Regarding key tasks before, during and after the 2026 Lunar New Year, she emphasized that Women's Union chapters at all levels should intensify communications on the purpose, significance and importance of the 14th National Party Congress.
"They should widely promote activities and projects celebrating the Congress and convey the sense of excitement, confidence and expectations among officials, members and women ahead of the event," said Anh.
She also called for continued encouragement of Women's Union members to actively participate in contests to learn about the Resolution of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term.
She further stressed the need to strengthen communications on the elections of deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2026–2031 term. This includes promoting gender equality in political participation and women's leadership, providing information on action programs of candidates, especially female candidates, and disseminating information on voter responsibilities, election procedures, developments and results. Training and guidance should also be provided for women candidates participating for the first time.
In addition, Women's Union chapters were urged to continue mobilizing social resources to care for disadvantaged women members during the 2026 Lunar New Year so that no one is left behind. Local Women's Unions were encouraged to establish new projects and launch peak emulation campaigns to achieve practical results in celebration of the 14th National Party Congress.
