The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Ba Vi District People's Committee, on December 12 organized the 2024 Rural Industrial Products and OCOP Products Exhibition in Ba Vi District.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Dinh Thang, said that Hanoi is a region rich in historical traditions and cultural diversity. The city is not only famous for its unique cultural values and architectural landmarks but also renowned for its exquisite handicrafts, created by the skilled hands, creativity, and ingenuity of artisans from local craft villages.
Currently, Hanoi is home to 1,350 craft villages, representing 47 out of 52 traditional crafts of the country. It is also where many "craft hubs" are located.

The event.
The traditional crafts in Hanoi are primarily focused on bamboo and rattan weaving, gold and silver work, wood carving, flower art, lacquerware, mother-of-pearl inlay, ceramics, silk weaving, embroidery, and more. These crafts continue to preserve and promote the great traditional values that have shaped the unique cultural identity of Thang Long-Hanoi.
The 2024 Rural Industrial Products and OCOP Products Exhibition in Ba Vi District aims to support businesses and rural industrial enterprises in Ba Vi by showcasing and promoting their production activities, tourism, and traditional culture.
The event also introduces rural industrial products and OCOP products from Ba Vi to visitors from both within and outside the district. It provides opportunities for rural industries to access economic development prospects and boosts the production of small industries and handicrafts. The fair features 120 standard booths and central display areas for rural industrial products, OCOP products, local handicrafts, and Ba Vi's strengths, as well as products from other districts across Hanoi.
This fair is expected to be a significant platform for promoting outstanding and representative products from the traditional craft villages in Ba Vi and other districts of Hanoi to the capital's customers. It also aims to assist businesses in rural industries in diversifying their product designs to meet market demands, fostering stronger connections between producers, distributors, and consumers.
Through the "One Commune, One Product" program, Ba Vi has chosen many OCOP products based on its traditional and distinctive offerings, aligning with consumer preferences. Rural industrial products from the district have played a vital role in building new rural areas and improving the livelihoods of residents, contributing to a reduction in poverty rates.
The exhibition also aims to raise awareness among rural industries in Hanoi about the design and cultural industries, supporting the city's economic development and enhancing business cooperation between local and international organizations, experts, and enterprises in the handicraft sector.
The exhibition will run until December 16, 2024, at the Quang Oai Stadium, Tay Dang Town, Ba Vi District, Hanoi.
