The Party Committee of Cua Nam Ward on July 30 held its first Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

The congress reviewed the outcomes of the 2020-2025 term, drew lessons learned, and outlined directions and tasks for the next five years and beyond.

Delegates also discussed and contributed feedback on the draft documents for the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee and the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

During the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee and people of Cua Nam Ward effectively implemented key directives and resolutions of the Central Government and the Hanoi Party Committee.

These efforts brought about comprehensive achievements that contributed to the city's continued development in the new era.

All the targets set in the previous term were met or exceeded. Party-building work and political system development were carried out in a coordinated and creative manner, delivering solid results.

The political system was strengthened both in structure and ideology, and leadership effectiveness was enhanced. The local government was streamlined, and its administrative capacity was significantly improved.

The local economy continued to shift in a positive direction. State budget revenue in the 2021-2025 period was estimated to reach an average of VND12.6 trillion (US$480 million) per year.

Urban management and construction order saw marked improvements thanks to strong leadership. Cultural and social development also advanced significantly, leading to better living standards for residents.

Security and national defense remained stable, and public order saw positive changes. Major political and cultural events were held safely and successfully within the ward.

Looking ahead to 2030, the Cua Nam Ward Party Committee aims to build a lean, clean, strong, and effective political system.

It is committed to developing a team of public servants and employees with strong professional skills, high ethical standards, and an innovative mindset.

These personnel are expected to be bold in taking initiative and responsible in decision-making, meeting the needs of new development tasks.

The ward also aims to achieve fast, comprehensive, and sustainable socio-economic growth while maintaining public order, national defense, and safety.

By improving the quality of life for local residents, the ward seeks to become one of Hanoi's leading hubs for services, commerce, and tourism.

Cua Nam also plans to promote the application of science, technology, and digital transformation in urban management and economic development.

The goal is to shape a civilized, dynamic, intelligent and compassionate new-generation Cua Nam citizen.

Pham Tuan Long, Secretary of the Cua Nam Ward Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council, said that by 2045, Cua Nam is expected to become a model for harmonizing cultural heritage preservation and modern urban development. The digital economy and innovation will serve as key drivers of growth.

To realize this vision, the ward has set five guiding principles: putting people at the center, promoting international cooperation, working closely with local universities, using digital transformation and innovation as drivers of development, tapping into high-quality human resources, and ensuring sustainable growth aligned with environmental protection and public safety.

The Party Committee has also outlined five key tasks and three strategic breakthroughs to serve as pillars for rapid and sustainable development in the 2025-2030 term.

Speaking at the congress, Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council, praised the achievements of Cua Nam Ward in recent years.

He said that these results had contributed significantly to the overall success of the city.

Tuan urged the local Party Committee to continue upholding the heroic legacy of Lien Khu 1, and to build on its strengths and past successes.

He called for more innovation in leadership and decisive action to meet the term's goals.

Tuan emphasized the importance of continuing to streamline the local government structure for greater efficiency, while improving public service delivery.

He also called for better recruitment and training of public servants with strong ethics and professional qualifications.

The municipal People's Council Chairman encouraged the ward to lead by example in Party-building, to reform leadership methods, and to strengthen the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations.

According to Tuan, more direct dialogue with residents is also needed to address public concerns in a timely and effective way.

Cua Nam should also capitalize on its location in the heart of the capital to promote smart, green, and sustainable urban development.

The ward is expected to become a model for balancing heritage preservation with modern development, and to use the digital economy and innovation as core engines of growth.

Tuan asked the new Party Committee to quickly disseminate and implement the congress's resolutions, ensuring consensus across the entire political system.

He said this should be treated as a major political campaign to inspire new determination and unity across the ward.

At the congress, several key decisions were announced. These included the appointments of the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Secretary, Deputy Secretaries, and the Inspection Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Delegates to the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee were also named. All resolutions of the Cua Nam Party Congress were adopted with full support from attending delegates.
