The Dong Da District Party Committee on December 12 held a meeting to disseminate and implement Resolution No. 1286/NQ-UBTVQH15 by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly regarding the rearrangement of commune-level administrative units in Hanoi for the period 2023-2025. The meeting was for key officials and representatives of the 10 wards to be merged.

Dong Da District currently has 21 wards, with 10 wards undergoing administrative unit rearrangements: Van Mieu, Quoc Tu Giam, Kham Thien, Trung Phung, Trung Tu, Kim Lien, Phuong Lien, Nga Tu So, Khuong Thuong, and Thanh Quang. After the reorganization, the district will have 17 wards.
The Party committees and people's committees of the 10 listed wards will organize meetings for key officials to disseminate and implement the National Assembly Standing Committee's Resolution and the district's implementation plan. The people's committees of the reorganized wards will compile lists and announce the new administrative units. The task of reorganizing the administrative structure must be completed by December 25, 2024.
The activities of statistics and inventory, handover, and reception, as well as organizing the ceremony to announce the National Assembly Standing Committee's Resolution and launch the new administrative bodies, will officially begin on January 1, 2025.
To effectively implement the National Assembly Standing Committee's Resolution and the guidance of the City Party Committee, and to ensure the administrative rearrangement in the district meets the schedule and complies with the Party's guidelines and State law, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Da People's Council, Nguyen Anh Cuong, urged all levels of Party committees, local authorities, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations from the district to the 10 listed units to continue unity and high determination to complete the restructuring of the organizational apparatus and personnel in compliance with regulations, democracy, and transparency.
After the administrative reorganization, maximum efforts must be made to ensure convenience for residents, organizations, and businesses in handling administrative procedures, updating documents as per jurisdiction, and paying attention to the regular payment of subsidies for policy beneficiaries, especially during the upcoming Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025.
Additionally, Party organizations, local authorities, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and new administrative units must promptly issue regulations, assign tasks, develop work programs and plans, and arrange sub-organizations to ensure smooth operations immediately after the formation. Special attention should be given to leadership and coordination in holding the branch congresses and preparing for the Party Congress of the wards for the 2025-2030 term.
