Delegates at the event.
In his remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged and praised the achievements of generations of teachers and students at Thang Long High School over the past 60 years. He called on the Ministry of Education and Training, the Hanoi People's Committee, and the teaching staff to continue effectively implementing the Party's and State's policies and laws on education development.
He emphasized the need for the school to further apply the principle: "Students at the center, teachers as the driving force, the school as the foundation, the family as the support, and society as the platform." He urged the school to continue improving education quality, not only "teaching knowledge" but also "educating character," supporting students in developing comprehensively. The school should pay greater attention to creating favorable conditions for students to study, train, and develop intellectually, morally, physically, and personally, helping them become responsible citizens with aspirations to contribute to the nation.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long encouraged the school to strengthen its focus on academic excellence, maintain and improve performance in city, national, regional, and international competitions, and promote digital learning to equip students with knowledge and skills in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. At the same time, the school should emphasize moral and lifestyle education, national cultural and historical values, life skills, civic consciousness, entrepreneurial spirit, and creativity among students.
Highlighting the role of educators, the Deputy Prime Minister urged the school to further care for the material and spiritual well-being of teachers and to continue training and building a teaching staff with political integrity, professional ethics, solid expertise, and an innovative mindset. Teachers should not only deliver knowledge but also serve as role models, inspiring and motivating students.

He also called on the school to modernize its management system with transparency, democracy, responsibility, and efficiency, to promote the application of information technology and digital transformation in teaching and administration. The school should enhance international cooperation, connect with high-quality educational institutions, scientific and technological organizations, and enterprises to expand creative spaces and develop programs in experiential learning, career orientation, scientific research, and entrepreneurship for students.
The school must also build a strong and clean grassroots Party organization and mass organizations, effectively educate students in ideals, political bravery, and responsibility. It should strengthen the close ties between school, family, and society and mobilize community resources to support education.
Addressing the students, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said: "As future owners of the country, you must always strive to learn, absorb knowledge, proactively train in morality, intellect, physical health, and aesthetics, nurture dreams, ambitions, and the desire to contribute, and become good citizens, contributing to the development of your homeland and the country."
Earlier during the ceremony, Principal Le Trung Tin reviewed the school's 60-year journey of construction and development, emphasizing the continuous efforts of generations of teachers and students in overcoming difficulties and seizing opportunities. He described the school's journey as one of persistent determination and achievements that are a source of pride.
The school has gone through four main periods: evacuation during the resistance against the United States (1965–1973); improvement of infrastructure and gradual enhancement of teaching and learning quality (1973–1993); a phase of advancement and affirmation of education quality (1993–2013); and a period of comprehensive innovation, international integration, and cooperation (2013–2025). Since the 2020–2021 academic year, the school has maintained 45 classes with about 2,000 students.
Between 2013 and 2025, the school's students won 285 prizes in the Grade 12 Excellent Student Exams and 5 national-level prizes. In science and engineering competitions, students won 22 city-level prizes and 5 national prizes. Thang Long students have also participated in and received awards at international competitions in science, technology, economics, and artificial intelligence.
In 2023, Thang Long High School became one of the first high schools with students admitted to the Communist Party. For the 2024–2025 academic year, its entrance exam scores for Grade 10 ranked second in the city. The school continues to focus on enhancing comprehensive education and academic excellence alongside strengthening international integration and cooperation.
In recognition of its achievements, Thang Long High School has been awarded the Third-Class Labor Order (1995), Second-Class Labor Order (2000), First-Class Labor Order (2005), and the Third-Class Independence Order (2012). Two teachers have been honored with the title "Excellent Teacher," and one teacher has received the Third-Class Labor Order.
