The Hanoi People's Committee on July 30 issued Plan No. 205/KH-UBND to organize a ceremony that marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of key departments within the city's administrative system (August 28, 1945 – August 28, 2025).
The plan aims to honor the 80-year tradition and development of several specialized sectors under the Hanoi People's Committee, including Home Affairs, Labor–Invalids and Social Affairs, Justice, Finance, Transport, the Office of the People's Committee, External Relations, Information and Communications, and Culture and Sports.
The ceremony will recognize the contributions of generations of public officials and inspire current officials and civil servants to continue their dedication.
The anniversary ceremony is scheduled to take place in the first half of the day before August 28, 2025, at the Vietnam–Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace.
It is expected to welcome leaders from the central government, ministries, and agencies, as well as officials from the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the city's Fatherland Front.
Former department leaders and outstanding representatives from the honored sectors will also attend.
The celebration plan includes a high-profile emulation movement to mark the 80th anniversary, running until the end of August 2025.
There will be communication and educational activities highlighting the history and traditions of the departments, including promotional content on websites, banners, billboards, and documentaries.
Cultural, artistic, and sports events will be organized to complement the campaign.
Hanoi Radio and Television will produce a special video titled "80 Years of Growth and Development."
The Department of Home Affairs will lead the planning, including content preparation, budget estimates, commendations, and speeches.
The Department of Finance will allocate funding for the event. The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee will coordinate the organization, while the Department of Culture and Sports will be in charge of cultural performances.
The Department of Construction will ensure smooth traffic flow around the event venue.
