Ha Noi Opera House opens to tourists from September 6 (22:48 06/09/2017)

HNP – The Management Board of Ha Noi Opera House recently announced that the tour themed “History, architecture and traditional arts” at the capital’s iconic work of the Ha Noi Opera House will start to welcome tourists from September 6.

Accordingly, the tour will last for an hour and a half, taking place between 10.30am and 12am on Mondays and Thursdays. The proposed price is VND 400,000 (US $18).

The tour includes two parts: The first part allows visitors to learn about the history of theatre’s construction and architectural style; access to the original design of the French architects; visit the main hall, the stairs, the auditorium, the seating; enjoy tea in the mirror room to learn about the vestige of the bullet in December 1946 under the French colony; and see documents and photos of major events having been taken place inside and outside the Ha Noi Opera House.

The other part includes “Vietnamese soul” art performances, such as solo monochord, flute concerto, choreography, puppetry, etc.

The Ha Noi Opera House has become a cultural destination, playing an important role in the modernization process of Vietnamese culture, as well as a symbol of cultural exchange and social development in the capital.

With the most advanced technological equipment and solutions, the digitalization project of cultural heritages is expected to significantly contribute to preserving and promoting heritage sites in Viet Nam, including the Hanoi Opera House.

Ha Noi Opera House is located at the August Revolution Square, the center of Ha Noi, near Hoan Kiem Lake and the Viet Nam History Museum. The theatre, designed and overseen by the French, was constructed from 1901 and finished in 1911. Its design is influenced by the European architectural style under the Renaissance period.

Ha Noi Opera House is of great architectural value, it marks a significant period in the history of architectural development in Viet Nam under the French at the end of nineteenth century to early twentieth century. It is a historical witness of the Revolution of Ha Noi.
