HNP – The Municipal People’s Committee has issued Plan No. 201/KH-UBND on implementing the Viet Nam – Laos agreement on human trafficking prevention and control and protecting victims from 2016 to 2020.
Accordingly, the city will popularize and implement Viet Nam – Laos agreement on preventing, fighting human trafficking together with National program on crime prevention and control, Action program on human trafficking prevention and control for the period of 2016 to 2020. Popularization and education of legal document will be carried out through mass media, posters and leaflets, aiming to increase people’s awareness and call for their participation.
Coordination among authorities will be promoted for preventing and combating human trafficking, especially fighting criminal gangs involved in human trafficking to Laos. Efforts will be increased to help victims of human trafficking reintegrate in the community.
Ha Noi will also boost up cooperation with other localities and countries, especially Laos, to exchange information, combat human trafficking and rescue the victims; authorities will regularly review, summarize and assess implementation of the Viet Nam - Laos agreement.
As standing agency of the Steering Committee 138/TP, Ha Noi Police Department will promote movements to encourage people’s participation in the fight against human trafficking, conduct investigation and take professional measures.
Ha Noi police will proactively increase coordination with authorities to identify the rescued victims, protect them and keep their information secret, while cooperating with police officials in border provinces and Laos to undertake investigation, rescue victims and capture criminals.
