Hanoi aims to enhance PCI 2022 performance (19:45 25/08/2022)

HNP - On August 22, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Directive No. 13/CT-UBND on improving the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2022.  

The directive states that, in order to improve the city’s PCI Index of and for Hanoi to stay in the group of localities with high rankings nationwide, all departments, agencies and sectors, People's Committees of districts, towns are required to effectively implement Action Program No. 14/CTr-UBND, dated January 19, 2021 of the City People's Committee, at the same time, focus on implementing key tasks to improve PCI.

In which, the city urged local agencies to drastically  focus on overcoming the component indexes that have significantly downgraded and those that fall in the group with very low scores. Specifically, a significant ranking reduction index compared to 2020 that needs drastic focus on overcoming is the "Transparency and information access" index (ranked 57/63, down 23 places).

The indexes, although they have increased in rank compared to 2020 but still fall into the very low graded group and need to be overcome are: "Entry cost" index (ranked 44/63, up 17 places); Index “Land access and tenure” (ranked 50/63, increased 6 places); Index of “Law and order” (ranked 48/63, up 6 places); Index “Policy bias” (ranked 51/63, up 1 place); The index “Proactivity” (ranked 29/63); among others.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee also directed agencies and localities to focus on addressing one component index that tends to decrease in rank, which is the "Informal Charges" Index (ranked 29/63, down 3 places). Besides, he urged efforts to maintain other component indexes, with good ratings which are "Labor training" index (ranked 1/63); Index “Business support services” (ranked 4/63, up 9 places).
