Under the plan, Hanoi would identify areas and types of goods subject to smuggling or trade frauds; enhance inspection at key areas, including Noi Bai International Airport, Yen Vien international railway station; warehouses, wholesale markets, shopping malls, among others.
The city’s Steering Committee 389 is set to assign clear tasks and responsibilities for each local agency and Steering Committee 389 at district- and ward-levels.
Meanwhile, the Steering Committee 389 would mobilize personnel and resources to check on various roads, railways, air transportation, among others, to timely prevent smuggled, fake and low quality products; enhancing efforts against trade frauds and fake products, especially to those are banned or could affect public orders, as well as basic necessities during the Lunar New Year period, including drugs, weapons, firecrackers, cigarettes, petroleum products, food, wine, electronic products, cosmetics, luxury clothes, among others.
Notably, the Steering Committee 389 is expected to work against smuggling and trade frauds related to anti-Covid 19 goods and products, including face masks, hand sanitizers, protective gear, while raising public awareness against trade frauds and smuggling before, during and after the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Committee requested all local agencies to join the efforts in combating smuggling and trade frauds during the festive periods, especially in the upcoming 13th national Party Congress.
