Under the plan, Hanoi targets to expand the coverage of 5G network by 2025, so that local people could access broadband internet at low costs. Moreover, Hanoi is expected to invest in digital infrastructure for the establishment of digital government and economy, while staying among top cities in Southeast Asia in terms of data science and artificial intelligence (AI).
Moreover, Hanoi sets the goal of completing digital transformation in administrative units and socio- political organizations by 2025; providing open data of the local government to support the people and businesses; forming a number of smart urban areas; gradually developing smart sectors towards the establishment of smart city; creating a innovative startup ecosystem.
The capital city targets by 2025, digital economy would make up 30% of the city gross regional domestic product (GRDP) by 2025; and by 2030, the city would become Vietnam’s innovation startup hub; by 2045, Hanoi will be among Asian hubs of smart services and production, as well as innovation startups.
The city identifies the necessity to take advantage of the Industry 4.0 to revise the growth model and restructure the economy for further development, while gradually building smart city by 2025.
To achieve these targets, Hanoi expected to change the mindset in state management, improving legal framework and human resources.
