Hanoi orders to remain vigilant in COVID-19 fight (08:13 11/09/2020)


HNP - Hanoi Party Committee issued Announcement No.  2832-TB/TU on September 8, stating the conclusion of its Standing Board on COVID-19 prevention and control in the city. 


Accordingly, the municipal Party Committee asked all levels, sectors, Fatherland Front Committees, organizations and local residents to continue strictly abiding by directions of the Politburo, the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 prevention and control, the Ministry of Health and the municipal authorities on COVID-19 response.
 
It is necessary to increase communication activities and call on the locals to remain vigilant and comply with preventive measures under the guidance of the health sector.
 
The document underscored the importance to take initiative in quickly localizing, tracing contact and testing people who are exposed to COVID-19 patients so as to prevent the spread of the virus. 
 
Additionally, the announcement stated a  number of tasks to curb the spread of the coronavirus including enforcing isolation measures for those who enter Vietnam for less than 14 days; monitoring compliance with anti-epidemic regulations in isolation camps and accommodation establishments; tracing all arrivals from Da Nang when the central city eased social distancing measures.
 
Besides, the municipal Party Committee asked the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Party Committee of the Hanoi University and College Bloc to enhance inspection on pandemic prevention work in schools, vocational training establishments, colleges and universities. 
 
Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism is required to coordinate with the Department of Health to propose the extended list  of accommodation establishments which will be repurposed to become paid quarantine camps for all entrants into Vietnam. 
 
The Department of Finance is responsible for working with relevant agencies to propose charging people for quarantine under the Central level’s guidance.
 
The municipal Party Committee also urged district - and commune-level authorities to continue observing anti-COVID-19 regulations, and enhance inspection of pandemic prevention and food safety and hygiene. 
 
Under the document, the municipal People’s Committee is allowed to decide whether to relax epidemic control measures, based on the pandemic situation, aiming to effectively carry out socio-economic development missions while combating COVID-19.
 
The Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Hanoi chapter will continue cooperating with mass organizations in strengthening communication work and calling for public donations to the fight against COVID-19 in the area.
