In addition to raising the public’s awareness on the trade deal, the municipal People’s Committee has instructed local authorities to finalize legal framework and ensure the realization of Vietnam’s commitments in the EVFTA.
At the same time, Hanoi would continue to review existing legislation to notify competent authorities for adjustment of laws and regulations, if needed.
Regarding improvements in the competitiveness and human resources, Hanoi People’s Committee would focus on assisting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through policies and supporting programs in forms of training, providing information or financial support, IT, forming linkages in production and further integrating in sustainable value chains.
Additionally, Hanoi would ensure the application of science and technologies in production and businesses; improve productivity at local enterprises; applying science and technologies, innovation and startups to develop new production methods and products.
According to the plan, Hanoi also aims to restructure the industrial sector to lay the foundation for modern industrialization; speeding up the restructuring process of the agricultural sector in applying modern production method and technologies; promoting greater linkages between local and foreign enterprises to develop new supply chains; develop quality human resources, especially in finance, and hi-tech fields.
Hanoi is expected to review existing legal frameworks regarding working conditions to ensure compatibility with international commitments that Vietnam is a part of, at the same time evaluating the impacts of the EVFTA for socio-economic development.
