Accordingly, the municipal People’s Committee received the proposal of the Department of Industry and Trade regarding its organization of Hanoi Gift Show 2020 held every October in the capital city.
The show is part of a series of international specialized fairs for handicrafts held every October in Asia - Pacific region.
It aims to bridge handicraft establishments with foreign importers and fair visitors, and promote sales and export, especially in the context that Vietnam has basically contained the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event will make significant contribution to sustainable growth of Hanoi’s export turnover of handicrafts in 2020. This year’s fair is expected to attract 10,000 - 12,000 visitors, including from 650 to 700 international importers and visitors.
The organizing board also expects to earn an export value of about US$6.6 million from the Hanoi Gift Show 2020, posting a year on year increase of around 6.8%.
Regarding the matter, the municipal People’s Committee gave its approval for the proposal of the Department of Industry and Trade on the organization of Hanoi Gift Show 2020 slated for October 15 - 18.
The municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with Department of Foreign Affairs; Department of Information and Communications; Ha Noi Promotion Agency; and relevant units to elaboration a plan on holding the fair, and give a report on the outcomes to the committee as regulated.
