Hanoi steps up efforts against domestic violence (17:19 21/05/2020)


HNP - Hanoi’s Steering Committee on families and children issued document No.01/UBND-BCD on May 20, detailing plans to step up efforts against domestic violence. 


In the document, the Steering Committee requested the Department of Culture and Sports to be proactive in cooperating with the media and promoting regulations regarding anti-domestic violence; criticizing violations of the law against domestic violence; training skills for staffs responsible for works against domestic violence at various levels; expanding network of fighting against domestic violence in Hanoi; evaluating the result of the national action program against domestic violence until 2020 in Hanoi. 
 
The municipal Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs is in charge of receiving information and counseling victims of domestic violence through hotline 111, while pushing for social protection of these victims. 
 
The Department of Health will cooperate with relevant agencies in expanding volunteers for social affairs. 
 
The Department of Education and Training is asked to ensure efficiency in training of skills against domestic violence for children, students; maintaining a safe and healthy educational environment and prevent school violence. 
 
The Department of Internal Affairs is asked  consult with Hanoi People’s Committee in recruiting staffs to work in the fields of social affairs.
 
The Department of Information and Communications is in charge of  continuing promoting anti-domestic violence and honor those with outstanding contribution to the fight against domestic violence. 
 
The Department of Public Security is assigned to timely identify and support victims of domestic violence; multiplying model of task forces against domestic violence; revising regulations regarding administrative fines in anti-domestic violence. 
 
People’s Committees at various levels are required to quickly address hotpots regarding domestic violence in each locality; mobilizing sufficient number of staffs for social affairs and requesting leaders in each locality to take higher responsibilities in the fight against domestic violence. 
 
Hanoi would continue to build database on families; expanding models against domestic violence; task forces and other models against domestic violence which are suitable with actual situation in each locality.
