Hanoi boosts trading activities during Covid-19 pandemic (15:37 15/04/2020)

HNP - Hanoi People’s Committee issued document No.1213/UBND-KT dated April 13 requesting local departments and units to boost trading activities during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The municipal Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to organize online conference and training for enterprises regarding foreign markets, free trade agreements and regulations related to investment and trade, among others; supporting traders of handicrafts to participate in trade fairs and exhibitions at traditional markets under safety conditions; supporting exporters of handicrafts to attend the Lifestyle Vietnam 2020 at Ho Chi Minh City. 
Additionally, the municipal Department of Planning and Investment is asked to implement a range of programs, including Enterprises incubators; supporting and training human resources for small and medium enterprises during the startup phase; training executives and provide short-term courses for export; supporting programs for innovative startups; organizing workshop and training regarding commitments in the EU - Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA). 
The Department of Health is responsible to ensure efficiency in preventing and controlling diseases; monitoring the progression of diseases in the community; informing timely and accurately about the situation of the diseases on localities for appropriate solutions and help enterprises focus on businesses and production. 
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is in charge of  supporting development of hi-tech farming in Hanoi for agricultural exports; promoting safe production and businesses, as well as regulations related to origin tracing; building brands for export products of Hanoi. 
Meanwhile, Hanoi customs authority continues to implement e-customs, and create favorable conditions for enterprises to save time and operation costs; implementing measures to reduce costs and time in custom clearance. 
Hanoi Promotion Agency would continue to help enterprises find alternative sources for input materials in replacement of traditional markets that are being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; expanding and looking for new export markets; providing information for enterprises related to markets, trade regulations, international commitments and free trade agreements, among others.
