Bilateral cooperation between Vietnam, Cambodia in human trafficking prevention (17:13 31/03/2020)


HNP - Hanoi People’s Committee issued plan No. 64 on March 26, detailing plans to realize an agreement between Vietnam and Cambodia in bilateral cooperation in human trafficking prevention and victims protection in the 2020 – 2022 period. 


The focus of the plan is to raise people’s awareness and implement the agreement between Vietnam and Cambodia in bilateral cooperation in human trafficking prevention and victims protection the 2020- 2022 period; legal documents related to prevention and fight against human trafficking, in turn raising responsibilities in the fight against this crime.
 
Vietnam’s relevant authorities are tasked with realizing plans in human trafficking prevention, as well as identifying organized  crimes related to these illegal acts to Cambodia; enhancing efficiency in receiving and supporting victims to reintegrate into the community. 
 
Another key issue is to enhance cooperation between Vietnam’s provinces/cities and other cities in the world, especially with regional countries, in exchanging information, clarifying information, solving crime cases, rescuing and repatriating victims. 
 
Both countries are expected to review the result and efficiency in implementing the bilateral cooperation agreement. 
 
Hanoi People’s Committee requested consistency and close cooperation between relevant  agencies in efforts against human trafficking in Hanoi, especially crimes related to Cambodia.
