Accordingly, the Municipal People’s Committee Chairman asked departments, agencies and district/township People’s Committees to raise the awareness about the developments of the epidemic while drastically taking measures to prevent the novel coronavirus from further spreading.
More special attention should be paid to tightening surveillance on people coming from or who have traveled through the epidemic-hit area at the Hanoi-based Noi Bai International Airport. All of them must be checked for body temperature and fill out medical declaration forms so as to timely detect suspected cases.
Under the announcement, Chung requested related parties to continue strengthening the communication on the epidemic among local people so that they could be well aware of the situation and actively take preventive measures against the disease.
He asked the Center for Disease Control to collect samples from people having close contact with COVID-19 infection cases for COVID-19 testing.
Chung asked the Department of Health in collaboration with the Department of Finance to submit the support for each quarantined case with a daily stipend of VND100,000 (US$4.3) during the isolation period to the Municipal People’s Council for its approval.
The health sector is requested to keep an eye on caring for and ensuring safety for medical staff.
Chung also asked for strict implementation of isolation measures, and required all citizens to wear face masks in public areas or on buses.
The Hanoi Police and the Department of Information and Communications are assigned to work with functional forces under the Ministry of Information and Communications to timely detect and strictly handle cases of declaring dishonestly their medical status.
