Chung underlined that passengers arriving at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi will be checked for body temperature and monitored, and make compulsory health declaration.
He assigned the Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control to draw up detailed processes to handle situations, and urgently verify people who had close contact with confirmed cases and finish the task before March 9.
Those who had close contact with confirmed cases and tested negative will remain under home isolation for monitoring, he noted.
According to the announcement, the Department of Health is assigned to work with district/township People’s Committees to prepare medical workers as well as equipment for isolation and testing.
Additionally, the Department of Health in collaboration with the Center for Disease Control will spray disinfectant at main routes in Ba Dinh District on March 8 at the latest, while drafting a handbook on COVID-19 epidemic.
Similarly, the Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration with the Market Surveillance Sub-department will work with enterprises, retailers and business households to sufficiently supply essential goods to local consumers, especially hand sanitizer and antiseptic soap. The Municipal People’s Committee Office will coordinate with relevant agencies to urgently complete the city's portal on the epidemic to timely provide epidemic information to the people.
The Department of Home Affairs will collaborate with the Department of Health, district/township People’s Committees and related agencies to honor individuals and collectives having great contributions to the fight against COVID-19 epidemic as regulated.
Departments of Tourism; Foreign Affairs will continue working with Vietnam Airlines and Immigration Department ( Ministry of Public Security) to verify all passengers on flight VN0054 from March 2 until now, and inform the countries’ embassies on the epidemic’s development so that they warn their citizens.
