Hanoi focuses on combating acute respiratory disease (10:56 19/02/2020)


HNP - The Hanoi People’s Committee released Announcement No. 128/TB-UBND on February 15, stating the conclusion of its Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung who is the head of the Municipal Steering Committee on prevention and control of acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). 


Accordingly, the city’s entities and localities are requested to continue drastically implementing guiding documents of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, the Prime Minister, the Hanoi Party Committee’s Standing Commission, the Ministry of Health and the Municipal People’s Committee on the epidemic prevention. 
 
Under the Announcement, the Municipal People’s Committee approved the proposal of Departments Education and Training, Health, and Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to give Hanoi’s student another week off by extending their school break through February 23, 2020. 
 
The Municipal People’s Committee underlined the need to disseminate about the disease and encourage suspected cases to notify about the ailment by phone to the nearest health facilities or emergency phone numbers of the Health Department and the Ministry of Health.
 
It is necessary to carry out communication campaigns to raise public awareness on prevention and control of Covid-19; timely detect, isolate and monitor people coming from Vinh Phuc’s Binh Xuyen District within 14 days.
 
The Municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training in collaboration with district/township People’s Committees to disinfect all schools on February 22 - 23, 2020.
 
Departments of Education and Training; Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs are requested to draw up a plan on extending the school year to ensure the progress of teaching plans.
