Hanoi supports traditional craft villages in environmental impact assessment (16:08 12/02/2020)


HNP - The Office of Hanoi People’s Committee issued Document No.1109/VP-KTon February 7, requesting related departments and units to implement  the Resolution No.11/2019/NQ-HDND dated December 4, 2019 of the Hanoi People’s Council. 


In the document, Hanoi People’s Committee said it has received the resolution No.11 dated December 4, 2019 of Hanoi People’s council regarding a number of supporting policies towards the development of traditional craft villages, including those that are in the process of applying for acknowledgment of the craft village status. 
 
Regarding policies supporting the development of craft villages and environmental impact assessment, villages that are in the process of applying for the status of craft village and those qualified for such status would be required to make environmental impact assessment under Decree No.18 dated February 14, 2015 of the government. Hanoi would support VND200 million (US$8,569) for each village to carry out such process. 
 
Regarding the support to build brand and register collective branding, Hanoi would support the training and providing knowledge regarding the building and promoting of brands; providing consultancy for brand building strategy and developing brands for craft village; naming brands, designing logo and developing system of brand awareness; supporting activities such as PR, marketing and brand promotion; providing legal assistance  in  for brand registering in Vietnam and at major export markets of Hanoi. For each activity, the financial support would be up to VND100 million (US$4,285), while each craft village is allowed to register up to five activities. 
 
In addition to these activities, craft villages are able to enjoy supporting policies from the government and the city, given no overlapping in supporting activities. If there is an overlapping in supporting program, a craft village could only choose a program with the highest benefits and amount of financial supports. 
 
Hanoi People’s Committee instructed to enhance the support programs to craft villages, as well as give guidance on administrative procedures.
