HNP - Hanoi People’s Committee in Instruction No.5003/UBND-KT requested related agencies and people’s committees at district-, commune-, and hamlet-levels to implement the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans - Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

The instruction was in line with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s request at the document No.2481/VPCP-QHQT, dated September 5, 2019 on the challenges and opportunities for Vietnam when taking part in the CPTPP.
Therefore, Hanoi People’s Committee expected related agencies to review legal documents and propose changes in  regulations or law, if any, in order to ensure Vietnamese regulation to be  compatible with the CPTPP; implementing measures to enhance the city’s competitiveness, applying IT in administrative reforms; promoting public online services and high quality human resources, particularly in priority sectors such as IT, laws, finance, among others.
Hanoi is expected to step up efforts in raising people’s awareness about Vietnam’s opportunities and challenges when taking part in the CPTPP and other free trade agreements (FTAs) for the business community and government agencies; encouraging active participation from the private sector, business associations and citizens in getting know more about the CPTPP and its related commitments.
Hanoi expected agencies to enhance its efficiency in protecting the lawful rights of employees in compliance with Vietnamese laws.
