Hanoi steps up effort to ensure traffic safety in remaining months of 2019 (18:08 16/11/2019)


HNP - Hanoi People’s Committee issued instruction No.4976/UBND-DT requesting related departments to realize priorities in traffic safety in the fourth quarter of 2019. 


The move is in line with the document No.376/TB-VPCP dated October 24, 2019 of the Government Office announcing the conclusion of Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh at the meeting discussing measures to ensure traffic safety in the third quarter. 
 
Following the instruction, Hanoi People’s Committee requested the Department of Transportation to cooperate with Hanoi Police Department, people’s committees at districts, communes and hamlets to ensure traffic safety and reduce traffic congestion in Hanoi; implementing measures to reduce the number of traffic accidents in the remaining months of 2019; enhancing supervision activities and punishing violations in railway transport, in turn reducing the number of traffic accidents in three criteria (the number of accidents, fatalities and injuries); periodically reporting the results to the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Ministry of Transport and Hanoi People’s Committee in compliance with the law; proposing and reporting to Hanoi People’s Committee for urgent issues. 
 
Additionally, Hanoi People’s Committee requested related departments, agencies, people’s committees at district-, commune- and hamlet-levels to implement consistent measures ensuring traffic safety, reducing traffic accidents and congestion, enhancing efficiency in state management and strictly punishing violations regarding traffic safety, which are in compliance with the Vietnamese laws.
