The Municipal People’s Committee received Official Letter No. 454/KH-UBATGTQG dated October 4, 2019 of the National Traffic Safety Committee on organizing activities marking the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in Vietnam in 2019.
Under the program "Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 period", the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims 2019 will be observed on October 17.
In Vietnam, a wide range of activities will be launched throughout the country in response to the day. Especially communication campaigns will be implemented during one month from October 20 to November 19.
Additionally, delegations of agencies, political and social organizations, philanthropists will visit and support families of traffic accident victims.
The National Traffic Safety Committee also requested Traffic Safety Committees of provinces and central-run cities to visit and give financial support to families of those who died from road accidents, and road traffic victims in especially difficult circumstances from November 1-10.
Traffic Safety Committees of provinces and central-run cities will elaborate plans on organizing activities to commemorate traffic accident victims in localities. They include organizing conferences, workshops and seminars on traffic safety and order; offering measures to prevent traffic accidents; visiting and helping the victims in difficult circumstances, among others.
Regarding the matter, the Hanoi People’s Committee assigned the Department of Transport as standing agency of the Municipal Traffic Safety Committee to take prime responsibility and cooperate with the Municipal Police, relevant departments, sectors and district/township People’s Committees to carry out the instructions of the National Committee on Traffic Safety at the above-mentioned document.
