Accordingly, district/township People’s Committees will carry out environmental sanitation campaigns to prevent dengue fever; spray chemicals to kill mosquitoes; guide communes and wards to establish teams to inspect prevention and control of dengue fever; take drastic action to prevent the disease in residential areas, agencies, construction works, and schools in the areas.
Units, schools and construction works are tasked to jointly carry out measures to prevent dengue fever.
It is necessary to enhance the communication and education to raise public awareness on disease prevention and control; instruct local people to take measures to prevent dengue fever.
Health units will be responsible for monitoring dengue fever cases in communication; and timely detecting and drastically handling outbreaks to prevent the disease from further spreading.
The Department of Health is in charge of monitoring the epidemic; timely handling outbreaks; opening training courses to provide specialized skills for health workers in treatment; preparing enough medicines and equipment to treat patients so as to minimize deaths due to dengue fever; strengthening the communication on disease prevention and control; grasping the situation to take action to prevent the epidemic.
The Department of Information and Communications, Hanoi Radio and Television and press agencies will proactively disseminate preventive measures as guided by the Ministry of Health to raise people’s awareness on preventing dengue fever.
The Municipal People’s Committee also requested the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee and organizations to enhance prevention and control of dengue fever among local residents.
