Accordingly, the city will promote sustainable production and consumption so as to ensure fast and effective development, and meet the requirement of economic integration; innovate technological equipment and management process; establish sustainable production and consumption to effectively use natural resources, and reduce environmental pollution; carry out programs and plans; call for the participation and contribution of the entire society, especially enterprises and consumers.
Hanoi will try its best to fulfill key targets by 2020, including: 50% of businesses will take solutions for cleaner production and energy saving; reducing 50% of imperishable plastic bags used in markets; 100% of shopping malls and supermarkets will not use plastic bags which are hard to decompose on December 31, 2020; 60% of industrial parks and clusters will apply new technologies toward clean and environmentally-friendly technology; encouraging local businesses to join in environmental protection and develop environmentally-friendly products; 80% of enterprises will take part in safe farm produce supply chains; applying QR code in tracing the origins of food.
Making contribution to fulfilling national goals by 2020, Hanoi will strive to complete major targets, including 42% contribution of green, environmental and waste recycling industry to the city’s GRDP; collection and recycle of 85% of urban solid waste, 75% of industrial solid waste and 50% of construction solid waste.
To fulfill the above-mentioned targets, apart from strengthening the communication to raise awareness on sustainable production and consumption, the city will focus on developing distributors’ sustainable distribution systems.
