Accordingly, the Municipal People’s Committee asked the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to update air pollution indicators at air pollution monitoring stations managed and operated by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment on its website and Hanoi Portal; take prime responsibility to inspect and urge to stop the use of beehive-shaped coal bricks; take drastic measures to handle burning rice straw; give period reports on the city’s air quality to the Municipal People’s Committee.
The Department of Construction in collaboration with district/township People’s Committees will closely check solutions for environmental protection in construction areas, brick manufacturing facilities; request relevant units to maintain environmental sanitation, domestic waste collection, transportation and treatment.
The Department of Transport is assigned to license transportation of construction waste as scheduled so as to ensure traffic safety as regulated; strictly handle solid waste transporting vehicles which do not meet the requirements of environmental sanitation; prohibit the use of vehicles with expired registrations.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will enhance biogas-production models so as to remove environmental pollution in breeding households or large-scale breeding farms in residential areas.
The Department of Health will warn locals about air pollutants as well as negative impacts of air pollution to people’s health.
The Department of Information and Communications will strengthen the communication to encourage people and social organizations to join hands to protect air quality.
