Hanoi keeps fighting ASF virus (15:41 31/05/2019)


HNP - The Hanoi People’s Committee on May 27 issued Official Letter No. 2180/UBND-KT on continuing to take drastic actions to prevent the African swine fever virus from further spreading in the city.


Realizing the directions of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung on taking more drastic action to put the ASF disease under control at Official Letter No. 4291/VPCP-NN dated May 20, 2019 and Announcement No. 192/TB-VPCP dated May 17 of the Government Office, heads of provincial and municipal People’s Committee are requested to closely monitor the disease situation in the city;  review and drastically take actions on fighting against the ASF outbreak; actively allocate funds for disease prevention and control and provide financial support for farmers who had infected pigs culled; give remuneration to functional forces in charge of disease prevention; make concrete plans on culling infected pigs and mobilize forces to fulfill the task (if necessary).

Regarding this matter, the Municipal People’s Committee assigned directors, heads of departments and sectors of Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Information and Communication, Finance, Planning and Investment, Transport, Health, Police; Sub-Department of Market Management, district/township People’s Committee and relevant agencies, basing on their functions and missions, to carry out the directions of the Prime Minister and Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung at above documents.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will be responsible for urging the city’s entities to implement their tasks, advising the Municipal People’s Committee to guide the execution. All tasks will be completed before May 31, 2019.
