Accordingly, a communication campaign on the action month will take place from now until May 15; the launching ceremony will be held from April 10 to 20; and inspections will be conducted from April 15 to May 15 across the city.
In addition to regular activities held to guarantee food safety, this year’s action month will launch a communication campaign on complying with legal regulations on safety in food production and business.
The Municipal People’s Committee underlined the need to actively prevent food contamination, minimize poisoning cases and food-borne diseases caused by unsafe food.
It is necessary to increase the responsibility of all-level People’s Committees for the food safety work; strengthen the cooperation among local governments, functional agencies and social - political organizations in ensuring food safety; and promote the sense of responsibility of producers, traders and consumers for the food safety work.
The city will mobilize press agencies of the central level and the city to participate in the communication campaign on ensuring food safety as well as promoting safe food production and trade models as stipulated by law.
Besides, the Municipal People’s Committee in collaboration with the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee and social organizations to enhance dissemination and education of Law on Food Safety, food safety standards, regulations and knowledge as well as harms of unsafe food while encouraging local residents to denounce unsafe food production establishments.
Besides, district/township/commune/ ward People’s Committees are in charge of guiding agencies, political and social organizations to strengthen dissemination of food safety policies, regulation and knowledge among local residents, among others.
