Accordingly, the Municipal People’s Committee assigned the Municipal Police to proactively cooperate with the Department of Transport, relevant agencies under the Ministry of Public Security (if necessary) and units to urgently carry out direction of the Chairman of the National Committee for Traffic Safety on investigating and clarifying causes of the traffic accident on Thang Long Highway; strictly handling accident-related organizations, individuals as stipulated by law while inspecting the traffic organization and safety conditions of traffic infrastructure in the area where the above-mentioned traffic accident occurred.
The Department of Transport - the standing agency of the Municipal Committee for Traffic Safety is tasked to take prime responsibility, coordinate with the Municipal Police, Viet Nam Road Administration, People’s Committees of districts, towns and relevant units to strictly implement key missions of traffic safety in the locality.
Traffic policemen, traffic inspectors and functional forces are in charge of regularly checking and handling violation cases in areas as stipulated by law.
Units are asked to carry out directions of the National Committee for Traffic Safety, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Public Security and the Municipal People’s Committee as regulated; report outcomes and issues beyond their authorities to the National Committee for Traffic Safety, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Public Security and the Municipal People’s Committee.
Departments, sectors, People’s Committees of districts, towns, basing on directions of the National Committee for Traffic Safety, the Ministry of Transport, and the Municipal People’s Committee as well as the situation of traffic safety in each locality, unit, will proactively take drastic measures to maintain traffic safety and order, reduce traffic accidents; request functional forces to enhance inspection to handle violations citywide as stipulated by law.
