Accordingly, the Municipal People’s Committee received a document of the National Committee for Traffic Safety on the year of traffic safety 2019. In which, the National Committee for Traffic Safety asked units to drastically and synchronously take solutions right at the start of the year; make a plan and allocate funds for the task; popularize and grasp missions among officials, civil servants and labourers; increase leaders’ responsibilities for ensuring traffic safety under functions, tasks and authority of agencies and units; enhance the application of science and technology in ensuring traffic order and safety with the focus on IT application in traffic management and operation; supervise, detect and handle violation cases of traffic order and safety, etc.
Regarding the above matter, the Municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Transport (a standing agency of the Municipal Traffic Safety Committee) to take prime responsibility and cooperate with People’s Committees of districts, towns and relevant units, basing on directions of Truong Hoa Binh – Deputy Prime Minister – Chairman of the National Committee for Traffic Safety at the above-mentioned document as well as direction of the Municipal People’s at Plan No. 234/KH-UBND dated December 24th, 2018 on ensuring traffic safety and order, reducing traffic jams in the city in 2019, to urgently make a plan on effectively taking solutions to reduce traffic accidents in 2019; report contents beyond their authority to the Municipal People’s Committee; give reports on results to the National Committee for Traffic Safety, the Ministry of Transport and the Municipal People’s Committee as regulated.
Relevant departments, sectors, People’s Committees of districts, towns are tasked to proactively take solutions to ensure traffic safety and order, reduce traffic jams and accidents, and strictly handle violation cases in the city.
