Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade asked Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and centrally-run cities to monitor and evaluate supply and demand of goods, especially essential commodities; recommend functional agencies to take measures to ensure balance of supply and demand and stabilize commodity market in the end of the year and Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).
It is necessary to recommend provincial People’s Committees to give measures for preparing goods sources, stockpiling essential goods for Tet; take solutions to stabilize the market as regulated; cooperate with the State Bank of Viet Nam to support enterprises producing and distributing essential goods to serve Tet.
More effort must be made to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and functional units to monitor diseases, especially prevent American African Swine Fever from entering Viet Nam; tighten the control of importing pork in localities, especially from nations and territories which recorded African swine fever outbreaks; proactively offer measures to ensure balance of supply and demand, market stabilization for agricultural products and essential commodities in the end of the year.
Besides, more attention should be paid to enhancing the implementation of the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese products” so as to support domestic production and consumption associated with goods supply to stabilize the market on Tet in remote areas, islands, and localities suffering from storms and floods.
Regarding this matter, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to take prime responsibility and coordinate with the Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Culture and Sports, Tourism, Information and Communications, Market Management, Investment and the Trade and Tourism Promotion Center to proactively implement the task and give a report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Municipal People’s Committee as regulated.
