City encourages the use of new highly-efficient and power-saving technologies and power saving (06:48 14/11/2018)
The plan will contribute to reducing peak load capacity of the national grid by around 300 MW by 2020, 1,000 MW by 2025 and 2,000 MW by 2030 via the implementation of DSM (Demand Side Management) projects.
Accordingly, Ha Noi will continue implementing the related projects which were deployed effectively in the 2007-2015 period, such as project on installing time-of-use electricity tariffs meters, reactive power compensation system, and projects on popularization to raise the awareness of electricity customers in the area.
It is necessary to gradually expand the customer network participating in the DSM national program; implement the DSM National Programs in association with encouraging and supporting consumers to invest in solar energy systems in the area; jointly carry out programs on efficient and saving energy use, giving out roadmaps on developing the smart grid and orientations of renewable energy sources in the city.
More effort must be made to carry out a series of solutions to popularize and raise people’s ability and awareness, including: building and synchronously implementing communication campaigns, enhance education of contents, benefits of implementing the DSM National Program among communities and education establishments so as to raise consumers’ awareness of power saving, energy saving, efficient use.
Besides, the city will replace mechanical meters with electronic meters, with a view to completing the installation of electronic meters and remote data collection system for all power customers by the end of 2019; deploy and promote the use of compact-LED lamps, encourage the use of new highly-efficient and electricity-saving air-conditioners and the time-of-use electric meter tariff scheme; build a pilot project on solar cells for lighting systems in rural areas in accordance with characteristics and potential localities of Ha Noi.
