Accordingly, all forms of transporting, trading, slaughtering, and consuming imported pork products without clear origin are prohibited.
The localities were urged to promptly detect and strictly punish any case of illegally transporting animals and their products from foreign countries; closely supervise at border gates, trails, and border areas people and vehicles entering Viet Nam from countries hit by the ASF; launch a month for sanitation, sterilization, detoxification in farming areas, markets, and slaughterhouses from September 15th to October 15th, 2018.
It is necessary to instruct breeders, veterinary facilities to enhance inspection of pigs and take bio-safety measures in breeding; focus on monitoring pigs and pig products in border areas.
Besides, more effort must be made to tighten control and sterilize markets and slaughterhouses; make plans to close markets and take treatment of African swine fever if detected and then give a report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Localities are requested to urgently make action plans to prevent the ASF disease as directed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development so as to synchronously take measures to prevent the disease effectively; establish inspection teams and urge to take measures to prevent the ASF disease from entering Viet Nam.
Regarding the above matter, the Municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to serve as an advisor in carrying out the PM’s direction before September 20th, 2018.
