Under the plan, the book fair is set to take place from October 7-9 at Ly Thai To garden, the Octagon house, and Dinh Tien Hoang street (section Hoa Phong tower to Ly Thai To garden) in Hoan Kiem district.
The opening ceremony would start at 9.30 am on October 7, according to the organizers.This year's fair would exhibit books with the theme "Tradition and Integration" with 200-250 booths; book promotion events, cultural exchange and other parallel activities.
The event would draw the participation from publishers across the country, as well as those from abroad, foreign diplomatic missions in Hanoi, and representative of publishing associations in the region and around the world.
According to the organization, the book fair is part of the plan to promote reading culture in Hanoi until 2025 with a vision to 2030; celebrate the 68th anniversary of Hanoi’s liberation (October 10); 70th anniversary of the traditional day of the publishing sector (October 10); 55th founding anniversary of ASEAN (August 8).
Meanwhile, the Hanoi’s 7th book fair would provide an opportunity for the locals to enjoy books, promote reading culture and contribute to the development of a reading society, while helping publishers to overcome severe impacts from the Covid-19 pandemic.
