In an effort to ensure safety for the 13th National Party Congress and the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival in 2021, Vice Chairman Chu Xuan Dung asked district-level People Committees to continue strengthening communication work to raise public awareness and responsibility for complying with anti-COVID-19 measures as guided by the Ministry of Health.
Under the document, local authorities are tasked to closely monitor entries from abroad and punish illegal immigrants and violators of pandemic prevention and control regulations.
The task forces are urged to strictly handle cases defying facemask rules in public places, such as relic sites, parks, walking streets, bus stations, supermarkets, shopping malls, while tightening the management of quarantine camps.
Dung requested the Department of Health to make responding plans for different development levels of the pandemic.
It is necessary for the health sector to supervise the pandemic prevention activities at healthcare facilities across the city, and improve its testing capacity.
The police force is responsible for coordinating with relevant units to tighten control at border gates and open paths to prevent illegal entry, while investigating and strictly dealing with illegal immigrants and those organizing illegal entry into Vietnam.
Meanwhile, the Hanoi Capital High Command will work with the Department of Health and district-level authorities to better manage quarantine camps, and follow instructions of the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the Ministry of Health and the municipal authorities on strengthening COVID-19 prevention and control.
