Under the plan, Hanoi has set multiple objectives to boost investment, trade and tourism to help realize the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth target of 7.5-8% per year in the 2021-25 period, which was mentioned at the city’s 17th Party Congress, as well as the development targets until 2030, with vision to 2045.
Specifically, by 2025, Hanoi would build a Party Committee with high leadership capability, aiming to ensure Hanoi’s sustainable and rapid development to push for a green and smart city.
The city targets to reach GRDP per capita of VND190 million (US$8,300) by 2025 and VND830 million (US$36,000) by 2045.
By 2030, Hanoi would become a modern, green and smart city with high competitiveness and achieve GRDP per capita of around US$12,000 – 13,000.
Hanoi would be a global city by 2045 with international competitiveness, high living standards and comprehensive and sustainable economic and socio-cultural development.
Meanwhile, Hanoi aims to enhance greater efficiency in utilizing state budget for trade, tourism and investment promotion activities, while creating favorable conditions for economic components, businesses, associations and individuals to take part in such processes.
As such, the city expects promotion activities to be cost-effective but has significant impact, especially in major markets.
This would contribute to build a modern, civilized and green Hanoi, a city with high competitiveness in the region and the international stage.
