Hanoi strives to improve PAPI ranking in 2021 (07:49 06/05/2021)

HNP - The Hanoi People’s Committee on May 4 issued document No.1284/UBND-SNV on implementing plan No.24/KH-UBND dated January 22, 2021 on improving the city’s ranking in the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Index (PAPI) in 2021. 

Under the document, departments, units and people’s committees at district- and ward-levels are expected to ensure effective realization of the plan No.24/KH-UBND, while the implementation process should be associated with their respective functions and responsibilities, in turn contributing to each locality’s socio-economic development. 
Departments of Internal Affairs, Health, Information and Communications, Construction, Transportation, Finance, Justice, Education and Training, Industry and Trade, Natural Resources and Environment, among others, are tasked with proposing plan to improve the city’s scores in each component of the PAPI. 
Leaders of each units and departments should be responsible for improving sub-components in PAPI that scored lower points compared to those of in 2019, while clarifying reasons and measures to improve the score for this year. 
Meanwhile, Hanoi would continue to raise public’s awareness on current regulations, their rights and obligations on each policy. In the coming time, local authorities are expected to raise their efforts in promoting the general elections for deputies of the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for tenure 2021-2026 period. 
The Hanoi People’s Committee requested the Department of Internal Affairs and related agencies to ensure efficiency and transparency during the election process, while Vietnam Fatherland Front - Hanoi chapter is responsible for supervising and identifying violations, if any.
