To ensure dual goals and put people's first, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee requested Directors of departments, divisions and branches; Chairpersons of People's Committees of districts, towns and communes, wards and townships accelerate the Covid-19 vaccination campaign.
In particular, the People's Committees of districts, towns continue to follow the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Hanoi authorities in the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic; actively grasp the pandemic situation in the country and the city to have a timely implementation plan in the locality against the pandemic; ensure the containment of the pandemic for socio-economic development.
Chairpersons of People's Committees of districts and towns will be held accountable if the disease re-emerges in the area.
In addition, Hanoi would launch a vaccination campaign against Covid-19, including the completion of vaccination for children from 5 years old to under 12 years old in August 2022, completing the 3rd and 4th jabs as soon as possible for people aged 18 years and over and speeding up the 3rd injection for people from 12 to under 18 years old under the guidance of the Ministry of Health; focus on early completion of vaccination for medical staff, police, army, teachers, people working in the field of transportation, essential service providers, people working at tourism industry, trade centers, supermarkets, enterprises, industrial parks, industrial clusters.
Meanwhile, Hanoi would push for drastic measures to promote vaccination among the public, aiming to increase vaccine coverage; strengthen information and communication on the benefits and effectiveness of vaccines; warning about new variants of omicron and guiding people to take care of their health after Covid-19 infection; targeting communication on vaccination for people of high-risk, underlying disease (including children); developing communication content before, during and after the vaccination campaign; organizing communication teams on vaccination in every residential area; publicizing vaccination sites in the locality and information so that people know and go for timely vaccination.
The Department of Education and Training, the Department of Health and related units would continue to speed up the progress of Covid-19 vaccination for students at schools under their management according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health; strengthen communication and direct schools to invite experts and professional consultants to advise parents or legal guardians of students about the effects and benefits of vaccination; convince children and parents and caregivers to have their children vaccinated against Covid-19; pay attention to children with underlying diseases, obesity to coordinate with the health sector to implement the vaccination plan to ensure the safety of children and students.
Hanoi would establish inspection and supervision teams regarding the implementation of vaccination against Covid-19 in the locality, while leaders of Party Committees, Chairman of People's Committees of districts, towns answer to the City People's Committee for the results of vaccination in their respective localities.
The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to coordinate with the Department of Information and Communications, newspapers, radio stations, People's Committees of districts, towns to increase information and communication activities on vaccination, its benefits and effectiveness; strengthening communication on vaccination against Covid-19 with scientific evidence, focusing on the 3rd and 4th vaccine doses for people aged 12 years and over.
