Accordingly, the municipal Steering Committee asked heads of departments and sectors, and chairpersons of district- and commune-level People’s Committees to strictly follow instructions of the Central agencies and the municipal authorities on COVID-19 prevention efforts in the coming time.
They are ordered to stay vigilant, seriously adhere to COVID-19 prevention and control measures and be held responsible if virus transmission happens.
The Steering Committee ordered strong communication on anti-pandemic measures throughout the city, especially in high-risk areas like factories, hospitals, schools, shopping malls, supermarkets, markets and public areas.
All people who arrive in public offices across the city are subject to be checked in by scanning the QR code using their smart phone, helping the local task forces in conducting possible contact tracing.
All citizens are advised to minimize travel to Ho Chi Minh City and other pandemic-hit provinces. Those who have to travel for work at agencies, organizations, and industrial parks, that are based in pandemic prone regions, must have approval from the authorities and must strictly abide by pandemic prevention and control regulations.
The Steering Committee assigned the Department of Health to perform SAR-CoV-2 testing for people with high risk, such as those returning to Hanoi from Ho Chi Minh City and virus-hit provinces, and those linked to the coronavirus outbreaks in the Thang Long Industrial Park and districts.
The Department of Health is tasked to enhance pandemic prevention and control measures in medical facilities and concentrated quarantine camps to avoid cross-infection there, while planning to carry out large-scale COVID-19 vaccination campaign in the city.
The Steering Committee also requested the police in collaboration with functional forces to deploy checkpoints at major roads, piers, inter-provincial bus stations from/to the city to prevent import of disease threats.
At the checkpoints, people have their body temperature measured and fill in the medical declaration form. The functional forces will also review the COVID-19 prevention work on all vehicles and will test people suspected of being infected with the novel coronavirus.
The competent authorities are required to give harsh sanction to those violating COVID-19 prevention and control regulations as set by the Ministry of Health and the municipal authorities.
