City to proactively respond to Storm 4 (16:06 17/08/2018)

HNP – The Ha Noi Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control has recently released Public Telegraph No. 04-CD/BCH on asking units to proactively respond to Storm 4.

Accordingly, units are tasked to continue strictly carrying out the direction of the Municipal People’s Committee at Public Telegraph No. 02/CD-UBND dated July 23rd, 2018: closely monitoring the movement of the storm and flooding situation on mass media; timely giving full information to local residents for better prevention; regularly checking major works and preparing enough human resources, materials, vehicles with the “four-on-spot” motto to respond to the storm in an effort to ensure safety for people and their properties as well as minimize damages caused by the storm.

People’s Committees, Steering Committees for Disaster Prevention and Control of districts, suburban districts, towns  which were affected by recent floods, especially Chuong My, My Duc, Quoc Oai, Thach That, are signed to continue mobilizing human resources, equipments to overcome consequences; making a plan on moving local residents to safer areas; giving guidelines and assistances in ensuring traffic safety in landslide and flooded areas; mobilizing human resources to support local residents repair their houses; launching environmental sanitation campaigns; improving damaged works in fields of healthcare, traffic, education, irrigation; ensuring safety of the dike system along the Bui and the Tich rivers.

Special attention must be paid to checking reservoirs, dams in the area; requesting units to monitor, operate reservoirs; readily preparing human resources, equipments and vehicles to respond to the storm.

The Ha Noi Sewerage and Drainage One-Member Limited Company is tasked to make a plan on urban water drainage in downtown districts.

Irrigation companies will continue well operating drainage systems on canals to drastically handle flooded areas, especially in districts of Chuong My, My Duc, Thach That, Quoc Oai.

The Green Park One Member Limited Company will timely remove fallen trees when there are heavy rains, high winds; minimize damages to people and properties.

The Capital High Command and the Police Department will collaborate with local authorities to prepare forces, vehicles to respond to the storm so as to maintain political order; cooperate with the Department of Transport to ensure traffic safety in the inner city; promote patrol work on waterway routes; enhance inspection of activities at the harbor to ensure safety for people and their means.

Ha Noi Power Cooperation and relevant units will urgently overcome incidents to ensure enough electricity for people’s production and daily life.

Departments, sectors, and functional units are assigned to proactively take many measures to respond to bad situations.
